In my best Michael Myers' Linda Richman "Coffee Talk" voice . . .

Ryan Doumit . . . top of the 8th . . . with runner on second, no outs . . . sac bunt. Discuss amongst yourselves.

You know where I stand on this. An extra run here would be HUGE.

Wow. LaRussa is Mr. Situational.

Bowker pinch-hits for Rodriguez. LaRussa orders Motte to issue the intentional walk. Pearce hits for Correia.

C'mon, Steve!

Now we have to go with Crotta. Which is fine.

It's Meek. Let's see if he can get into a groove.

Hurdle giving Larussa a run for his money in terms of "situational baseball."

Too bad Diaz could not get the ball out of the infield. Damn runner on 3rd, 1 out situation is becoming a pain in the ass for the Pirates.

Meek better not eff this up.

The Pirates have basically emptied their bench.

Even if the runner doesn't come in, such as in this case, I don't think it's a bad idea.

Coulda' been worse. At least they didn't BUNT with a runner on third-- a la Jose Bautista against the Cubs a few years ago.

I like Doumit taking hacks at an eminently mediocre pitcher in Miller. Miller is tough on lefties, but righties kill him.

Attaboy, Meek.

Thank you for making me look stupid.

Not that that is difficult to do, mind you ....

I now like our chances with the 4-5-6 hitters against Joel Hanrahan.

And as you say this, Overbay hits an RBI double off of the Cards' righty.

Yes, right now I'll take him Over Bay (*rimshot*)

Nice little "trading places" sequence with GR doubles between McCutchen and Overbay.

Larussa stewing in the dugout like a modern-day Madame Lafarge, muttering, "Never again ... never again ...."
