And the Pittsburgh Kid goes deep for his second home run of the year. He's leading the National League in RBIs with 8 in the first six games.

2-0 Good Guys through 4 and 1/2 innings.

Let's Go Bucs!

I'm only watching Gameday, but how did Descalso pull that pitch for a double? It was down and away on the corner.....

Jones dove and missed it.

Gotcha. I'm amazed he could pull that though. Bad idea, generally speaking.

Rasmus just hit one that was about 2 feet from being a home run. Nice track and catch at the wall by Jones. Whew.

Still 2-0 Pirates through 5 innings.

Let's Go Bucs!

And Chris Carpenter is done. He goes 6 innings and allows 8 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 1 home run and strikes out 6. Quality start, but not overpowering.

Per Gameday, some of those balls on Tabata were beyond iffy. How'd it look on TV?

The Bucs have benefitted from some inside strikes being called balls today.

Ronny Cedeno would've gotten that.

*ducks*

Another shot for "Concussion Boy."

Troll!

Just kidding.

I gotta say, this has been a pretty wretched debut for Rodriguez. I know it's gotta be tough to have your debut against Carpenter, and I know that ball took a wicked spinning hop, but not good from #10 so far today.

Where's Ciriaco?

All right Arm Chair Managers . . . fast forward to bottom of the 8th.

Do you:
(1) Stick with Correia;
(2) Go with Crotta;
(3) Go with Meek?

I'd stick with Correia but with an incredibly short leash. Would have Meek warming up and ready to come in.

Sign me up for the "Kevin Correia fan club."

Great job. Low pitch count, worked out of trouble when he had to.

Really impressed with his contributions. He is a model to Pirates pitchers that going after hitters and not walking guys leads to good things.

Stick with Correia and warm up Meek and Crotta in the pen.

Number 2 ... because that is what Meek has been so far.

Let Meek "find it" in something other than a 2-0 game on the road.

Stick with KC unless he comes up with men on. If so, Crotta please.

Jeez, I would love for a team to play 8 switch-hitters against "Situational Tony."

Larussa would probably go into convulsions in the dugout, trying to figure out who to pitch and when to switch.

He'd try to super glue their feet the ground and then make the switch...

Per Gameday, Correia is both On Deck and In The Hole. He's a friggin Iron Man.

Funny. He's just playing the percentages, though. Given Diaz's splits, I'd go with a righty, too.

If Diaz doesn't get Alvarez home, do you think Hurdle would pinch-hit Bowker for Rodriguez?
