I think I read somewhere that Carpenter was going to get the start today...

Looking forward to J-Macs performance. If he throws well that would make 4 out of 5 quality starts so far. I wouldn't have bet on that a week ago. Let's Go Bucs!

It would be nice to see Overbay get into the "swing" of things and start contributing and consistency on offense and defense by Cedeno. At this point I would be thrilled if Cedeno just became a "steady" ballplayer.

Other than that (although I've been disappointed in Meek's outings) I am thrilled with the Pirates so far!

GO BUCS!

No, the starter is scheduled to be Kyle McLellan. Carpenter is due to go in Wednesday's game, according to MLB.com.

You're more likely to see a giant whale swallow the Fukushimi nuclear plant in Japan.

McClellan is a converted reliever so hopefully the Pirates are very selective early in the counts. I'd like to see a pitch count in the 50s by the fourth inning.

Given the amount of radiation currently in the Pacific near Japan, that's not totally out of the realm of possibilities.

Didn't that happen in a Godzilla movie?

Tough night for Pedro: 3 K's, a GIDP, and 4 LOB. Whew. Better times lie ahead, though, right?

He looks a bit like he did when he first entered the league. Hopefully, he gets it going soon.

gosh I hope so, but phew he has stunk so far. Are there any circumstances where we would send him to Indy? He needs to be our best hitter at the end of the year or we're in trouble for the future. I'll be rooting for him!
