I know some people are down on the Cards this year, but even without Holliday that St. Louis line-up is full of professional hitters.

Rasmus is really the only scary hitter outside of Pujols, unless you count the ghost of Lance Berkman. They have an ugly structure to their lineup, nothing outstanding other than the middle of the order. Talk about a team that could have used Carl Crawford.

I don't know, my friend. Theriot always seems to get on base against the Bucs. And Craig can hit the ball a long way, while Freese is a patient hitter. I'm not one to get overconfident...

Pirates are off to a good start again this season. Under the radar a little is Tabata who is starting the season lijke he's about to have a great breakout year. And please remember that he is only 22. I'm solidly on his bandwagon.

"Jose can you see" stardom?

FYI, Gameday is clocking Morton's fastball at 96 MPH. Daaaaaaaamn.

3 ground ball outs. Bodes well.

As an aside, does anyone else agree with me that Gameday has really stepped up its game? Not only are the pictures of the ballpark and player representations beautiful, but the amount of information that it compiles for each player and presents to the user, especially regarding pitchers (e.g., release point, velocity over time, ball movement), is quite impressive.

It's incredible. Within a few years I'm basically expecting it to play out like a video game.

No question, Willton. And, depending on the game, there are even built-in video replays of the key hits available not quite immediately, but almost.

I guess I should be watching Game Day instead of the NCAA Championship Game. 22-19 at the half, what a snoozer.

Nice to see Charlie Morton with a quality start, but 5 walks against only 2 strikeouts just ain't gonna cut it long term.

wowow Meek epic fail again. Im starting to think he might have just had a lucky season last year. His location is way off and it seems he has lost some velocity on his fastball.

Meek is really pissing me off to start the season. Think someone is still a little bitter about not being named closer?

And Cedeno shows his Gold Glove skills. Ugh. They should be able to give an error on a double play ball.

Meek has been atrocious but what's even worse if that in the midst of his meltdowns we also set up runs with errors (Overbay) and throwing to the wrong base (Jones).

You can also add Cedeno not being able to turn yet another DP to that list with Crotta now pitching.
