As I said in another post. We have not seen Milledge since his incredibly stupid baserunning blunder last week, where he went too far off second and could not get back to tag on a warning track out that John Goodman could have walked to 3rd on.

Face it, his utter lack of competence on the base paths have probably cost us at least three games.

If that's the case, that's one of the most petty reasons to bench a player for longer than 1 game.

That Milledge baserunning blunder doesn't stand alone.

Amazing, even those of you who want to bench Milledge don't speak well of Church.

Church now has one hit in June. He is currently batting .067 this month.
Yeah, he should be in the starting 9 tonight :!:

I guess JR wants to continue to lose. Of course starting LaRoche isn't helping either. Maybe they should start Aki....erm....not.....maybe they should start Crosby............erm not. D. Young and Milledge are the only two other choices. At this point who do you choose? They all suck.

And how many games does it cost us to weaken and already weak lineup by playing a guy who is clearly inferior at the plate?

So Lincoln has already mastered the art of immediately giving up a lead. I can see why they brought him up.

OK, Church over Milledge to start the game is debatable. What I don't see as there being any ounce of argument for is leaving Church in to bat against a tough lefty (Thortnon) with 1 on, down by 1 in the 7th inning.

You know Jack, I was thinking the exact same thing. You have a guy hitting about a buck sixty left in to hit against a hard throwing lefty and Milledge isn't used. I don't hold much stock in managers making such a difference but this move was as obvious as they come. I am losing faith in this manager. The DH foul up against Detroit still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. :? :o 8-) 8-)
