Rocco posted on his facebook page that this might be Burres' last start and Lincoln is in waiting in the wings...

Why is Milledge leading off? What has he done to be worthy of leading off?

My gut reaction is that he's been able to draw some BBs this year (based on the 10 or so games I've seen on TV this year, I'm sure the full statistics can prove otherwise).

And of course, they simply have no one to put there. I think they've had some success having Crosby lead off though.

I still think Cutch should lead off. Bat Milledge 2nd and Jones 3rd.

Cutch has just had so much success in the 3-spot that I can't imagine changing the chemistry. I don't doubt that he would be any less sufficient wherever he bats, but I'd still like to keep his groove the way it is.

I suppose Doumit would clean-up with your proposed line-up? That would work for the time being but when his inconsistency sets in it would make for some very frustrating ABs I would think.

After we bring up Tabata, I think we will be glad Cutch has some more experience in the 3 hole. I didn't realize he now leads the IL in hits and steals. We are going to have a nice problem :D

Milledge has a .385 OBP against lefties this year. We could do worse.

Get Burres out of the game now while it's 3-3.

McGehee just led off the 6th with a HR to tie the game.

Fielder just missed a grand slam last inning.

Prior to that he gave up three straight hits.

Burres has pitched another good game for us tonight. Now we must score more runs.

I would say it was more a typical Burres start: he narrowly gets out of trouble all the way through but somehow manages to keep us in the game. The Brewers have managed to strand 7 through 6 innings.

Keeping the Brewers to 3 runs through 6 innings Shark. Not bad. I'll take it. To answer your other question, Doumit would NOT bat 4th in my lineup. He is way too inconsistent. The best hitter would be Young to put in that spot of who we have left, I think anyways.

Not a good outing for Doumit. Hits a killer double play and then his passed ball leads to the go-ahead run for the Brewers in the 7th.

Thanks again Donuts. Brewers now have the lead 4-3. The sooner Tony Sanchez gets here the better. Good Lord.

I would not replace Burres in the rotation with Lincoln. I would move Morton to the Bullpen and use Lincoln in his spot to see how it goes.

Thank you Milledge, Cutch, and Jones. Score is tied 4-4. As I type....Donuts hits a scorching flare over the SS for a hit. Bucs lead 5-4. Good job Donuts!!!!!! :D

Is it just me or does Doumit seem even lazier behind the plate this year than ever before? I really like Doumit, but John Russell needs to teach him to start getting in front of balls in the dirt and be more active side to side. He may lead the league in passed balls again this year. I know he may be "injury prone," but at some point you gotta start taking one for the team. We don't have some horrible bum for a backup, so why not give it try.

Well, if you're saying why aren't they simply giving Jaramillo (who I like, don't get me wrong) more starts, you have to factor offense into the equation. Doumit has second best average on the team right now and despite how inconsistent he can be at the plate, the Pirates have struggled a lot more through the years with him sidelined due to injury.

In regards to his defense, which is awful don't get me wrong, there was actually an interesting PG article about it today: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10139/1059132-63.stm
