Iwamura just sucks. How can they continue to pencil him in? Makes me sick

Nice to see Starlin Castro has cooled down since his debut. He's only been hitting .353/.421/.412 in 5 games since.

This is Russell just being stubborn. If they want to play Aki, fine. But he needs to move down in the order, especially against a lefty. Put Milledge in the 3 hole against the left and move Aki down to 7.

According to the Pirate home page stats-- Iwamure has 118 ABs which ranks him third most on the team
He is batting .169 which ranks him 15th behind even a pitcher and just ahead of Clement.

As I stated earlier--- he just sucks.

Does he have pictures of JR in compromising situations?

And he's the highest paid player on the team!

Then who is supposed to lead off? The whole offense has been abysmal, there is no one suitable to swap him out with. I guess you could make a case for Milledge.

I am glad to see Pearce in the line-up though.

I won't lie, I got this from a comment on Bucs Dugout, but a running gag I would like to see take off the board ...

The Aki-matic out!

For example, in a minute or two when this game gets underway, the first out of the game will almost surely be a weak ground-out by Iwamura, hence a token Aki-matic out!

Welcome back to reality with Burres. Not to play "I told you so" with anyone on the board, but this game was bound to happen. It wasn't going to be a below average game, it was going to be an implosion. And he's done it all by pitching a million pitches in the first inning, and without even giving up any of his signature BBs yet.

Meanwhile, LaRoche still can't play defense.

Listening on radio. Comments:

Aki swings at first pitch of game........brilliant
Bucs then go on to score three thanks to Gorzos inability to throw strikes
Should have been four.......thanks Aki
ADD must be run in the family
Had Gorzo on the ropes.......he'll now go on a Walter Johnson like run

Not only that, but it was a conservative half swing.

Two Aki-matic outs through two innings of play thus far.

Wow- talk about a defensive slump! It's gotten in his head now. He has more errors now than Alvarez does at AAA.

After the big pinch-hit RBI by Clement to cut the lead to one ...

First swing, weak grounder to first ... Aki-matic-out! Fourth on the game thus far.

McCutchen and Jones combined today:

10/11 with 7 singles, 1 double, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, 2 steals

Ridiculous.

At least those two belong on the team...
