Maholm gives up the first run in this "pitchers duel". Cardinals 1 Bucs 0

I wouldn't give up any more runs there Paully...........

Maybe my man .400+ ERA Maholm should go to the Bullpen. A picture of consistency eh?

Clement's atbats are just terrible.

And to think that I was looking forward to a potential pitchers' duel today with the "veteran" Maholm on the mound. Nibble, nibble, walk, walk . . . pitching scared. Drives me nuts.

After getting a few days off to work on the mechanics of his swing, I would say maybe the experiment could be in danger of being over if he doesn't hit in the Cincinnati series. Not to give up on Clement long-term, but at the very least give Pearce a lot more playing time. At the very least make it a platoon.

Clement is pressing and his 1st at bat was solid just at the 2nd baseman...He got a hit in the 9th today, thats a step in the right direction
