Andy out of the line-up due to his injury in yesterday's game. What did he hurt? It looked like he was in pain after trying to get back to the bag when Duke missed on the bunt, but I never heard what injury he sustained.

I read where had to leave the game because his back tightened up.
Must be contagious. The Ohlendorf back bug! :?

D McCutchen needs a good start. So far not bad. His pitches have been around the strike zone so far with good movement. When he is missing it's been to the outside or low.

Cutch's speed on the base pads is amazing. Milledge nice clutch double to drive in Cutch.

Bucs 2 Reds 1

A really boring game that rewarded those who stuck it out. Great atmosphere in the Pub tonight!

Great win again. Jones is the man. Cedeno had another very good game too.

Well done Buccos! :)

Agree with Argentum. Pub was pretty entertaining.

Great win for the Bucs. A win is a win no matter how they get it...

The best part was when the Reds walked home the tying run.

Karma is a bitch!

Though I was out on the town while the game was wrapping up (PST, what can I say?) , I was tracking the last two innings on my phone and it was riveting.

Good team win, looking like a sweep is possible.

Bring the brooms tomorrow, baby!

Didn't see the game, I really need to get League Pass or whatever it is for MLB so I can watch some of these. Sounds like Cutch alone will make it worth the price.

It is extremely encouraging to see them be able to win a game like this. No one really had a big day, but they got big hits when they needed them, and it appeared that they were extremely plate patient. The top five of the lineup each saw 20+ pitches in 5 PAs...they'll get the most out of their moderate talent if they can do that every night.

How did Delwyn Young look at third? He's off to a good start at the plate, I'm wondering if he might eventually replace LaRoche there.

For the most part this team doesn't chase bad pitches, like many of their predecessors did. Especially the breaking balls down and away, most of these guys can recognize them and lay off. Milledge did a great job of that in the ninth to tie the game. Really good at bat.

Young looked shaky at third. Had a ball go under his glove but was not charged with an error. Still you have to wonder how good he could be at the plate if he could play every day.

young ad only played about 5 inning at 3b in the minors, so he should get better , i thiunk they use this season to see if he can make that adjustment, cause his bat would be a big upgrade

YES! Delwyn's 9th inning AB was awesome! And crucial for his confidence/continued development. I was thinking that if he didn't get it done, not only the Pirates lose..but he'd lose some confidence that he really needs. I think we have a pretty good player in 85. Jones' AB was great too...but it's much easier to hit when your AB won't send everyone home if you don't get it done. The starting rotation is my biggest worry. Get better soon Ross! please.

BBF, I will let the entire board be the judge of that. Here is my nominee for bad, err, good Pirate joke of yesterday:

Q: What has 8 eyes and 8 legs?

A: 8 pirates.
