Its a rare day that I hope for a rain out but today is one of them. Pushes Duke to Saturday and Maholm can pitch in his regular slot on Sunday. Gives Ohlie time to heal and avoids Burres Part Deux.

Laroche left the game in the 2nd with back spasms. Who gets the call up if he goes on the DL? My guess: Walker.

Walked the bases loaded in the 8th. Then walked home two runs so far. Kiss my ass bullpen.

Ok Im sick of how this team plays. They are wasting a GREAT performance by Duke because our stinking relief pitchers don't know how to throw a baseball for a strike. Walked in 2 runs already. Everyone on base got on through walks.

At least we have Dotel coming in the 9th hopefully he can put it away.

Seriously. I'd like to take Joe Kerrigan's pink string and wrap it around their freakin' gonads!

Did Kevin Hart sneak back on the field without me noticing?

Why did Russell pull Duke?

Duke started the walk-a-thon. Pulling him made sense.

That 8th inning was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen, and I don't throw sentences like that around loosely. Up 3-0, the only time any of the hitters had made contact resulted in two outs, and the bullpen gives up 5 walks and walk in 2 runs. JimY summed it up well enough in The Pub ... "they should trade Zach Duke just to be nice to the poor guy. I know the look on his face right now from the many times we've seen it".

I mean, I don't care that Penn was pitching before, that was almost as ugly as the 15-run inning or whatever it was. There are no words. I am speechless ... I am literally without speech.

Because his wife had a headache?

Um, er...never mind.

This is about the best way I could sum up that 8th inning as well.

To walk home two runs... inexcusable. I almost wish the pitcher had given up a hit/HR... at least then I know he's challenging the hitter or he thinks his stuff will get the job done---something!

Glad the Bucs pulled out the win in the end. Not pretty and an eventual wasted effort by El Duche, but still a win to put in the column.

Back to .500. And while the W-L back and forth annoys me, it's still better than dropping 3+ in a row.

I'll take what given at this point.
