Moving Jones to the clean up spot was a smart move.

Now if we can just get the left field shift and pitcher hitting 8th nonsense changed.

Pitcher hitting 8 is working quite well, thank you very much.

Until it fails, I wouldn't touch it.

Yeah that doesn't really bother me. Milledge better start to hit though or he's going to have to get out of that 3 hole.

He's unlucky right now. Lots of hard hit balls right at people.

Charlie looks good so far. Great movement on all of his pitches. He looks relaxed. Keep it up Charlie!!!

PS: Doumit leaves 2 men on base again. Thanks Donuts.

Have you guys noticed that the pitcher hitting 8th hasn't really hurt us all that much?
It seems like the pitcher comes to the plate at the right time more often than not.
Top of the 2nd two out, Morton comes up.. Cedeño will hit lead off next inning.
Duke is a legitimate # 8 hitter.. some of the other guys are through pitching after 4-5
innings.

It took a weird carom off of one of the archways in right field. Just one of those things.

I have no idea. I could have ran him down from here in Rochester. I'm just watching the Gameday graphics...

Not watching so cannot comment, but giving up 4 in the 2nd. The game that is gone, I wager. When is the last time the Pirates rallied from a big deficit?

Oh well. Pedro, Tatata, Lincoln, etc. are on their way. I guess.

So much for Charlie keeping the Giants off the scoreboard.

Not saying today is the day, but it's time some of these guys learn to creep back into games like this.

I've been on the phone all afternoon but I've got the game on with the sound down.

Charlie is for the most part throwing pretty well but he keeps getting his fastball down the middle and it is getting hammered. His fastball tails in to righthanders and it's pretty easy to hit. He needs to either hit the outside corner or bust them in on the hands and he is not doing that. Plus he is not mixing in enough other pitches and not locating them well when he does.

More of the same. Good stuff but not good results. The other guy on the other hand is locating his stuff really well and putting up zeroes even though he is 3-4 mph slower.

Just got back to see that. Doumit has left 5 on. Could have been back in the game with one swing.
