Milledge went a long way in the first game to get a ball in the LCF gap. That is a base runner, probably at second, perhaps at third. It is not a run, however.

What is the second instance you believe the shift paid dividends? (I missed quite a bit of today's game.)

Yep. Sorry ZM, I'm with Bucfan on this one. LF shift sucks. Also, Aki leading off hitting 1st sucks too...in my humble-just-a-fan opinion.
