Kip is two hitting the Pirates...3 innings 65 pitches, 2 BB's, 1 K and some balls are getting hit hard...

Kippy just walked Milledge and Cedeno to lead off the 4th. Two things:

1 - Kip sucks
2 - Was gonna post that we wouldn't score any runs and while I typed that JJ bounced into a double play.

What are the chances Milledge gets stranded at third with D. McCuthen batting?

A: 100%

This is seriously frustrating: just 2 hits in 6 innings off . . . KIP WELLS!

#&$%!!!

Here we have a young kid doing just fine and we can't hit a lick off a very poor pitcher. We oughta know how bad he is. Come on Bucs let's get D. McCutchen a W by scoring big this inning.

On the bright side, McCutchen did reasonably well in his first MLB start: 3 earned runs on 5 hits (but only one of them for extra bases). Plus, 5 K's, and the two walks he allowed didn't hurt him.

Another L. On a wild pitch, yet.

Sigh.

Pirates hitting was terrible ... just awful. The top 5 hitters went 0-18, with 2 walks.

That is going to mean a loss almost all the time, unless the pitching throws a shut-out. But D. Cutch apparently threw well, and Hanrahan continues some pretty good work of late.*

*For the Pirates, Hanrahan has gone 22 2/3 innings, giving up 20 hits, 6 earned runs, and logging 30 K's. His ERA is now 2.38 with the Pirates. Also, he has given up 0 HR's with the Buccos. (His only negative stat is the walks - 13.)

Shades of Bob Moose...I can still see that ball hitting the dirt in front of Sangy. Same team, same city...
