The board is pretty dead today. I'm still 'watching' the game via GameDay on Pirates.com. Duke seems to have pitched well today, judging by the box score. I am sure that he wants to finish the game on his own given the recent woes of the bullpen, but with 90 pitches through 7 innings I am a bit concerned. Hopefully he will be able to finish out the eighth inning and let Capps go for the save in the 9th.

nice to see it on MLB.tv

duke has done very well,, both st louis runs came after a bad pickoff by duke and another bad throw. else it would have been 3-0

only terrible baserunning and bunting to move runners.. :s in this 7th inning...

Go F-yourself Capps! His collapse this season has been epic. He is absolutely putrid lately.

Duke pitches well again and doesn't get a win.

Capps sucks. He can't be our closer anymore.

I think there is a reason it has been pretty dead. This time it isn't any pain in the @$$ posters, it's the pain in the @$$ team.

I really cannot watch the Pirates this season. They have re-made the team, as they should have done numerous times in the past, but the short-term result is painful. Just freaking painful.

And I feel for Zach Duke. He deserves so much better than this. He is pitching really well in the second half, and has nothing to show for it, apart from some undeserved losses.

How about the fact the Capps gets charged with one run in this mess.

Well that's it. Pirates get swept once again and lose their 8th straight. This homestand was horrible.
7-3 Cardinals is the final.

If memory serves we were 2-8 at home and going on the road where we are so good.

The last win i remember was the blowout win we had in Arizona. I don't know how long ago that was, but that was the last good win we had.

I did not see or listen to any of the game. Why did Capps come on in the 8th?

Can we just start skipping the 8th inning?? You know, like hotels don't have a 13th floor???

I think it was 2 in a row after Milledge was called up right after we got home.

Well, there you go. McCutchen is to blame. All he needs to do is hit 3 HR's and the Pirates win.
