Kind of surprised by that as well, urban. He stole a ton of bases last year.

I don't know if this dude is supposed to be fast, and I know he is not McCutchen, but I am pretty sure I am way faster than this guy. Anyone know if he is supposed to have real good speed? I looked at some old pictures of this guy, and he looked much trimmer back then. Hopefully this guy doesn't eat himself out of the field and the running game someday. I know this guy had some steals before, but I think he will not steal too many bases here.

I was thinking the same thing. He is not fast by any stretch. I am wondering exactly which of the "5 tools" he has that are supposed to be better than Nyjer?

Doug Davis' thought process ... "Hmmm. Andy Laroche or Jeff "000" Salazar??? You know, I'm going to work around Laroche and take my chances with Mr. Perfection."

And to nobody's surprise, Jeff Salazar continues his perfection against lefty pitching this year.

Wow ... the bottom 1/3 of this line-up was horrific. Salazar, Jaramillo and Ohlendorf.

Of those three, I believed that Ohlendorf had the highest OBP against lefty pitching. And I am dead serious about this.

Just checked ... Ohlendorf with the .188 OBP against lefties. Salazar .000, and Jaramillo .208. It was close between Ohlendorf and Jaramillo.

This guy embarrasses even a bad team like ours. I think I would have liked to see Moss in left and Milledge in center much better, it can't be all that bad if It's only for one game.

He looks a lot bigger. Not sure if he bulked up or put on weight.

Hanrahan really sucks. The trade for Milledge was good, but Burnett for Hanrahan really looks bad.

This is really frustrating. Out number 2 was right there and Hanrahan throws it away and the Milledge nails Roberts at the plate and Jaramillo drops the ball.

Well, we suck, but we already knew that.

Doug Davis in his last 2 starts against the Pirates ... 13 IP, 9 hits, 5 walks, 13 K's, 2 runs allowed, for an ERA of 1.38. Just plain wow.

Wow. This Roberts guy has pretty much personally destroyed our team.

It is games like these that basically have me take a 2-week holiday from the team.

P.S. How freaking bad are Jaramillo and Salazar against lefty pitching? Why doesn't Russell know this and make sure never to play them against lefties?

They've got to spend some money to improve this blowpen this offseason.

I was gonna blame Russell for this loss. The lineup was brutal. Salazar has no business playing with Moss on the bench...but the more I thought about it, the more I blame NH. Salazar should not even BE here. Robinson Diaz should be here. He could hit off the bench...and don't anybody give me this crap about Diaz playing every day at AAA because he will never be the Pirates starting catcher. He has the most use to us as a major league bench guy.

Garrett F'N Jones is back on track. If only JJ would have held on.
