Maholm has been lucky so far. He has been pitching behind all day.

Delwin Young makes a nice play lifting Nyjer"s foot off the bag and keeping the tag on him.

Doumit is really frustrating right now. I wanted JJ to play today.

Why would Paul bat in the bottom of the 6th, and go into the 7th inning...He wasnt pitching that good today...Pinch hit for him and bring in the bullpen...

Oh well...

Malholm's luck runs out and it's 4-2 Nats.

This sucks.

Mahlom 55 strikes, 43 balls. Tells the whole story. Can't throw the ball where he wants to. All too common for him in 2009. I am starting to worry.

I just cannot understand it. Catchers need days off. Doumit is fragile as it is. JJ played well in his absence. Russell is running Doumit into the ground.

DY goes yard. How come "Crooked Hat" only faced one batter? For his protection?

What is your point?

My point is that I think JJ should play at least once every 5 days probably 2 days a week. Given that we have games Mon-Thurs this week today is a perfect day to rest him. Given how cold RD has been at the plate it's even more reason to give him the day off.

We have to tie this to remove Burnett from the win.

Doumit is in Spring Training right now. He needs to play to get his game back. He shouldn't be at all tired.

I know I am one who has called for a Doumit position change and still would not mind seeing that. However, if you have him as your No. 1 catcher, you play him as your No. 1, including getting him game time to catch up after a long layoff.

That would be my point. But, doing it this way allows up to inflate our post counts and catch up to others...

So much for Mr. Maholm being our "Ace". I do not enjoy watching him pitch........sorry.

AndyL was safe at 1B. The Ump blew it.

Doumit needs to sit. Why JR doesn't see that is beyond me.
