I don't understand this line up very much. I understand Jack is hurt, but if Freddy isn't hurt why is he sitting. I would give Doumit an off day before Freddy.

Freddy hasn't been very productive in his last 10 games. Makes me wonder with Jack and Freddy in the lineup with all of this great defense we are still 11 games under .500. Of course Vazquez is not the answer at SS long term either.

I think I'd rather have a more consistent offense that has some power versus the great defense minus the offense. If that means a few more errors or less double plays or less spectacular plays at SS then so be it.

Scoring more runs can cover up the sins of having a lesser defense or even an occasional not so great game by a starting pitcher.

Time to crank up the offense NH.

Actually...Chuck Finder reported that Freddy woke up this morning with a "tweak" in his left knee.

It's totally ridiculous. Here we go again. The pitcher Petit (not Andy:)) has an ERA above 7 and we haven't scored through 3. Last night we got 4 off the best pitcher in the NL. It makes no sense at all. It has to be mental.

Rant finished now :)

Never make the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd base (Bobby Bonilla).

Cutch and Vazquez nail baby drew at 3rd on a lead off double. Good thing because Roberts put the next one in the pool. 2-0 snakes (Asps? :))

If we lose this game, I'm going to be seriously jacked. I'm watching an endless stream of bad at bats. Meanwhile, Duke doesn't look locked in.

Is there really a slickville? I know a lot of central PA cities but not that one, my dad lives in Mt Pleasant, my relatives are all from Erie and I used to live in USC.

My girlfriend goes to bed at 10 so I'm good till I fall asleep. :)

YEP..Westmoreland County, only about 15 minutes from Mount Pleasant... know MP well. My daughters show stuff at the County fair every year! Slickville was big coal mining town back in the early 1900s..and now just a little small village!

Good hit by Andy there. Great job by Moss being patient at the plate as well.

I was getting pretty mad with some of our guy's at bats earlier. Wayyyyyy too out in front of changeups and off-speed stuff. This freakin' guy is throwing 88 at best. Why are so many guys cheating on the fastball? It almost seem like our advanced scouts or coaches do not do a very good job sometimes.

Vazquez hits a single reaches 2nd on a error and scores LaRoche. 2-2 in the 4th w/ 2 out and Duke puts one out of the hanger but 5 ft foul! Pops out. Still 2-2.

Cool. I like WM County. If I ever moved back it might be there (if she would evah leave Boston). Delallo's in Jeanette and Lou's in Mt Pleasant are great places. Now back to the game.... :)

I like Moss as a player. He is very sound fundamentally IMO and does not get cheated at the plate. If he got his offense together consistently I think he could really be good.

Keep the ball down Zach.....they have you dialed in if you elevate the ball!

Moss looks a bit slow doesn't he? At least running the bases. Of course everyone looks slow now with Cutch on the team.

Wehner is ready to go down to the field and yell at the Pirates to wait on some of this guy's junk. Out in front.....out in front....out in front. Then they stand there and take strike three. Good Lord! Why do the Pirates continuely make bad pitchers look good? I don't understand it.
