ok...I wish Pearce the best but I just don't think he's a major leaguer. However, I am looking forward to this game and feeling good about the team for some reason that defies logic.

I think we need to allow very few runs like none :) - since we aren't likely to score many.

We gotta split with the Dbacks. We'll see, though, with Haren tonight we could see a second perfect game pitched today...

Hopefully we can all stay awake for this one.
Agreed BostonBuc, seems like it might be a real pitcher's dual tonight (let's hope)

1.96 ERA for a starting pitcher at the all star break. That's ridiculous.

Here are the numbers for Haren:

Well this game is over. Charlie does not have his control right now which really sucks.

Can anyone confirm if Morton is getting squeezed by the ump?

Hell has frozen over. Steve Pearce just hit a double. Almost hit it out.

I was thinking the same thing. I want to be wrong about Pearce and have him do well and I'm sure you do too it's just that he has been so bad.

Oh yeah i just feel we have been waiting so long for Pearce to do something. Maybe he finally realizes this is his last chance.

Rocco just tweeted (Twittered?) that Heran's WHIP is .80. That's just insane.

I have an odd feeling this is going to end up being Steve Pearce's breakout game. Now either i can look back on this and brag later on, or it will just make me look stupid.

Don't you think Steve will do good? I say yes because he is finally getting a chance to play everday at his stable position.

No. I think Steve Pearce can't hit at the major league level. I think he is the definition of a AAAA player. However, I hope he does well it would be a great find and a minor miracle. I would like to be wrong.

He's off to a good start and I think the FO is committed to playing him for a month of so to see what happens. So this is his chance and he doesn't have to worry about going down.

That's what they were saying about Garrett Jones a month ago!

That is what worried me when Garrett was called up, that he would be a Steve Pearce player, but he has been able to make the transition to major league pitching that Pearce still hasn't.

Don't take this the wrong way. If Pearce hits 260+ and has a couple of home runs in 30 days and play average 1B I will gladly eat a full plate of crow. It's just that I have not seen anything in the past that makes me think that is even a likely scenario.
