The odds of LaRoche's AB ending with only 1 out recorded are much higher if Morgan does not attempt to steal. Plus, given the count, I find it hard to believe that Meche's approach would have changed much if Morgan had stayed put.

Um, Morgan didn't sacrifice. He bunted for a hit, did he not? That would explain why there were no outs after he bunted. A bunt is only a sacrifice bunt if the bunter intends to get out.
