Pirates' lineup:

1. McCutchen, CF
2. Morgan, LF
3. Sanchez, 2B
4. Adam LaRoche, 1B
5. Moss, RF
6. Andy LaRoche, 3B
7. Jaramillo, C
8. Wilson, SS
9. Vasquez, P

Royals' lineup:

1. DeJesus, LF
2. Maier, CF
3. Butler, 1B
4. Guillen, RF
5. Teahen, 3B
6. Callaspo, 2B
7. Olivo, C
8. T. Pena, SS
9. Meche, P

The Pirates need to win, at the very least, 2 of 3 against the Royals. They are one of the few teams worse than the Buccos and probably have a worse minor league system as well. If the Pirates are to make the summer anything but dreadful they need this series. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the 3-game sweep in KC a few years back. I witnessed every inning of that massacre in person. My wife's family (KC natives and Royals fans) still bring up that series. I need this.

The royals have at least the same strength minor league system as the Pirates.

It certainly isn't in AAA. They have nothing here in Omaha.

One game is not much to go by, but I saw Omaha in Albuquerque last week and they didn't show much nor did they have any names that would make you sit up and watch. That SS that was rumored to be part of last years trade with the Dodgers, Hu, played for the Isotopes. His numbers were not too impressive butmy friend who is a season ticket holder gave him some props. I think he is 25 now though and he has no power.

The Royals have had a bunch of injuries with Gordon, and Crisp and Aviles...

Early on they looked like they could be someone to watch out for in the AL Central...

Teahan has been solid this year...I picked him up in Fantasy because he was supposed to be their 2nd baseman, but because of injuries he's pretty much been the starting 3rd baseman

All that I know is the pressure is on IA.

I started the last two game threads and two victories.

I'm going to watch this for a bit. Vasquez was OK in the 1st. Let's go Cutch.

BTW - 32,000 last night and it looks like 3,000 tonight.

Sigh. The dreaded leadoff-walk. The most depressing thing in baseball.

k good. i can type alittle game report so far. it is very bright out here, alot of the players are having trouble seeing. Vasquez doesn't look comfortable. The grays hats arent bad though. The double play with Freddy went over huge. it was fun to see, he saved Vasquez there but i dont know how long it will last for him.
