Maholm leaving a lot of balls up and he's not getting any luck on grounders.

Fantastic, albeit delayed, throw by Freddy to nail Kubel at the plate in the 2nd!!

It was a fine relay, but the key was McCutchen's throw to Freddy. He unloaded a strong throw very quickly, and it was right on the money.

Big LaDouche kills the rally in the 5th.

I can't recall seeing so many balls hit back through the box. Has Minny hit anything down the lines or power alleys?

This game is a slow bleeder. It'll be 10-2 by the 8th.

This game sucked. I am glad that I had to take a call for work. We didn't score when we had the bases loaded and we made too many fielding mistakes. Hopefully we can win at least 1 in Minn. Bummer...

Sad sad sad. I'm afraid we aren't going to take any in Minnesota.

I just checked the 12 Days in June thread.....I predicted the Bucs would go 1-2 with the Twins

After tonight, I will be very happy with that! :?

Wow ... you guys really know how to crank that panic button. Buccos win the next two.

Ugly baseball will do that.

It will be interesting to see how we adjust to that confounded turf. Balls were rocketing by the middle infielders like they were standing still. Our staff ERA would probably be about 8.37 if we had to play there half the year! Not a good place to be if you're a ground ball pitcher. The Minny batters were more than happy to oblige us on grounders. Maholm seemed to settle a bit after the first two but couldn't buy a freakin' out on a grounder. If not for the double play balls that the baseball gods mercifully rained down upon us it could have been a 20 run game for the Twins.

I was resensitized (is that a word?) to turf last night and didn't like it.

I hope that someday all stadiums go natural turf...

It is a very different game on turf. We should trade Nyjer to the Twins. He would have a lot more doubles and triples.
