Give Clint credit. He went with what brought him here.

There are two scenarios that could happen in this game. Jump on Wainwright early and have Cole pitch like he did last outing. Or Keep it 0-0, 1-1 and get to their bullpen. Anything else doesn't fare well for our Buccos. Obviously getting down early is a no-no but also getting down a run or two and Wainwright pitches into the 8th or 9th is very bad. I will take my chances with Rosenthal or anyone else in their bullpen.

Well, the only possible change would have been Tabata over Marte. So, it's a minor complaint but I would have liked to have seen Tabata at some point in the now 6 playoff games. Then again I have been saying I preferred Tabata hitting lead-off over Marte since ST because I just don't like Marte's plate discipline in that role. Not to mention that Tabata has simply been better the last two months. But I understand wanting Marte there for the defense and SB abilities. Other than that the only possible argument would be Mercer starting, but in an elimination game against a RHP you take the defense.

A couple early runs and some long at-bats would certainly make things easier. Only trouble is, we don't see to ever get that against Wainwright. Cole is going to have to be as good as he was last time out.

A series of numbers. I win.

I would expect that answer from you to also include the pattern.

But, those are two lines from Adam Wainwright facing the Pirates in the regular season. One outing at Busch. One at PNC. 7 IP both times. 3 ER in one game and 4 ER in the other. We won the one game. We lost the other (Marte drop). His only outing against the Bucs was the two-hitter in Sept. For obvious reasons, I didn't list that one. I want good ju ju.

I figured thats what it was as I, too, looked up Wainwright's 2013 game logs.

I didn't want to say anything to 'jinx' it, but he usually follows a 'dominant' start (like he had in Game 1) with a 'quality' one (6-7 IP, 3-4 ER).

This feels like one of those 3-2/4-3/5-4 games... not sure who will pull it out though.

Not my choice but I'll be going crazy like the rest of the board as we WIN THIS ONE!!!!!!

Today has been the longest day of anticipation of my life. I'll be honest, I didn't enjoy it. Let's get this game going before I go certifiably loco.

I'm a lot more calm for this game than the Cincy game. Maybe, it's because win or lose, there will satisfaction from the season. Or maybe I just feel like we got this.

So far, they are not chasing out of the zone. Keep it up.

Well. Made him throw some pitches at least. Wainwright doesn't seem to have as of great command tonight.
