Disagree with Morris over Wilson or even Farnsworth or Cumpton. No reason to have him in there; he's been a Jared Hughes-level weak spot and we just can't afford to have him on the mound in high pressure situations.

Buck over Sanchez is interesting. Clint must really value veterans in the post-season.

No reason for Garrett Jones to be in there over Travis Snider at this point. Clint being too loyal here.

RTJR -
Slight correction to the roster you posted. Justin Wilson is on the NLDS roster . . . Bucs are carrying 11 pitchers.

Sure there is. Jones has a better BA, OBP, SLG, and is the back-up to Morneau at 1B (since Gaby only hits lefties, and the Cardinals entire rotation is RHP). Also a good late-inning PH option. He's had a bad season, but he's not a completely useless role player.

I agree about Morris and Buck.

And Snider doesn't play first base

Yeah, I can see Jones and his "Byrd-adjusted" swing helping in the series.

That's why I included that Jones is the only back-up 1B.

They may have thought about Snider over Gaby but I doubt they even considered Snider over Jones

Doubt he got much consideration over Gaby, either. Just no sense in carrying a 5th OF who has no real value instead of a 1B who hits LHP as good as anyone in the league when Jones/Morneau can't hit them at all. You need late inning bats capable of hitting LHP available when the chess game begins (Gaby, Mercer).

Garrett isn't going to start/play over Morneau or Gaby, so he's a bench piece, yet he doesn't offer the bat off the bench Snider does.

If our defense isn't sharp, this will be a short series.

Glad that MLB doesn't care about the game being competitive. Just so they can get it on TV at the right time.

I HATE BUD SELIG!

Great job by TBS. Glad to see the NLDS logo instead of the play.
