Tough game to watch on TV, too. Martin was out on the pickoff, and Cozart did have plenty of time to throw out Pedro. Very unusual play there.

This offense isn't streaky, its bad. Thier OPS with RISP is last in the majors.

31 innings played. 27 innings hanging a zero on the scoreboard.

Not going to result in a lot of wins. Yeah, the starting SS has changed and he got on base several times but unless and until Walker, Snider and Marte start producing on a more consistent basis, the offense will be stagnant. Unless the starting SS starts hitting like a young A-Rod or Cal in his prime, this team's destiny lies with the guys who are paid to swing the bat and drive in runs.

However, to be fair, Reds' fans can complain similarly - but with respect only to this series.

I may be stretching to find positives but I feel as though the first three games have had a playoff feel to them.

Today, I'm not expecting much. Expecting McKenry behind the dish. Presley in right field. It's gonna take at least 6 runs to win. Hot afternoon game at Great American Bandbox? Cumpton on mound? Uuuuugh. A split would be nice but realism is far outweighing my hopes.

This loss is totally on Tim Neverett. With one out in the 9th, he starts spouting off about how this will now be 7 wins in a row for Locke, and how Grilli will break Hanrahan's record. I'm yelling at the tv, "Shut up, Tim!" But would he listen? Noooooo.

Yeah I noticed that. That was stupid.

To give credit where its due, the Reds have a really good pitching staff.

Another thought I had was that I didn't like the way Hurdle stacked the righties then the lefties in his lineup yesterday. I didn't think it would matter much because I thought we would score off of Arroyo, but the way it turned out, with so many relievers used, I think it was a real disadvantage.
