Good start for Brandon Cumpton. The Bucs need to score some runs for him now...

McCutchen "assuming" a DP just cost the Bucs a run. Had been going hard, it would have been 2-0. With Kershaw on the mound, that is a HUGE mental error. Dang.

We've had a lot of base running errors. Glad we got one, but really wish we could stop leaving base runners on board.

I think it would have been an extremely close play at the plate if McCutchen would have went for it. I wouldn't call it a base running error at all...

how about Cumpton!!! he has struck out 5 of the 6 batters he has faced.

With that Alvarez fly out, he is now 0-7 against Kershaw with 6 strikeouts...it was the first time he has ever put the ball in play!

He was jogging to third. Had he been running hard, he would have been around third by the time the ball hit the wall and it would have taken a miraculous effort to get him at home. No reason not to be running hard. None.

Need two more innings out of the pitcher. Then hand it off to bullpen.

Who was the pitcher who came up for the Buccos in 2011 or 2012 that had a no-hitter going until about the 6th inning?

My only guess would be Brian Burres.

Upon investigation, perhaps it was someone apparently named Aaron Thompson?

Cumpton on deck. PH him now or go for one more IP?

The Doyers have staggered their lineup pretty well. Upcoming will be L-R-L-R then all R's until Kershaw's spot.

That's it. It was Aaron Thompson in 2011, and it was 4 1/3 scoreless innings against the Brewers. Apparently, he's in the Twins system now.

Moot point.

Cumpton will go for one more.

So depending on the breaks, who should be the first RP up? Mazzaro, right? Maybe Morris? Wilson to face the top-5 seems like an obvious choice, but that might not happen until the 7th.

Might be getting some help from Milwaukee and Miami today. Would be really nice to take advantage.
