I'm so glad the Pirates aren't in a position where they could give a guy like Barry Zito the contract he has. Because then we'd have to be watching Barry Zito be Barry Zito while making ace pitcher money.

I was at the game last night. Man there were a lot of hard hit balls. No rain though other than a few small drops.

It's nice to see the offense heat up in time to save the bullpen from some inevitable regression. Good team win.

I sure hope these last two nights mean that the bats have come alive. Of course Lincecum and Zito are not quite up to the caliber of pitcher weve been facing.

Cain throwing today, has an ERA of 5.09 this year but 3.37 for his career. But his whip is right in line with his career numbers so maybe he has been somewhat unlucky.

I'm thinking we'll see just a modest amount of offense today, something like 8-10 total.

I'm putting the over/under on number of Pirate Ks at 12.
I expect a low run output from the Bucs.
Here's hoping that Ground Chuck makes an appearance tonight and pitches well against a depleted Giants lineup.

Really curious to read today which Dodgers are suspended as a result of Tuesday's brawl and whether it will have any impact on this weekend's games. I'm guessing that it won't and that all of the players suspended will appeal and be available.
