I'm giddy about this team. No quit at all. Less we forget how hot this team was last June and July. Its coming.

It hardly seems fair that we get a 4 game series with Detroit while St Louis gets Kansas City.

I know that some will call me crazy for posting this but I'll be far more pleased with Pedro when he starts consistently finding gaps and lacing doubles - particularly if he's doing it to both gaps. That will tell me that he's seeing the ball better and has found his timing. With his strength, he'll always be able to hit the ball out of the park. When he starts ripping balls to the gaps, it will tell me that he is something other than "its all or nothing on Home Run Derby." That the Bucs have completed 1/3rd of the season and he's sitting on a mere 3 doubles is an amazing statistic. Couldn't have asked for a more timely gap shot tonight to tie the game and to start the rally. Really, really, really nice to see.

Hurdle you Magnificent Bastard! Perfect call for that suicide squeeze and having Mercer steal right afterwards. Keep the pedal to the metal and go for their throat! Good one Clint.

I'm just going to C&P what I said a few days ago to show eerily similar this was to my post ...

The one thing I find a tad disconcerting about this is that that swing isn't translating to more XBHs that aren't of the variety that are launched over the wall. Obviously, the HRs are the most important and he is currently on pace to repeat a 30 or 30+ HR season (and the 16 HRs in three months as a rookie was very good as well), which is outstanding. The fact that so far this year he has just one double however seems pretty representative of the stereotypical "three true outcome" player cliche. I'd like to see that stroke tack on the types of doubles numbers of year's past and the rookie season as well. This isn't one of these tedious, "what kind of hitter is Alvarez" points in which it seems like half a dozen threads are created about a month, I'm pretty content that, at least tentatively, Alvarez is exactly who he is as a hitter and believe he will ultimately provide above average production at his position with elite power numbers, while still optimistic that at his age he can become a more balanced hitter than simply a Carlos Pena type. I would just like to see that stroke producing a little bit more gap shots and line drives for extra bases.

They said that about Warner too...

Great win by the Bucs. Hope the bats are heating up.

Now, on that other topic. Warner was a special case. A top of the league talent. Palmer is mediocre and getting on in years. Bringing him in is a mistake and will not work.

They should be looking to develop a young QB right out of college to be their franchise guy. And it doesn't always have to be a top ten draft pick.

That move lastnight should merit Mercer stuck on the bench for the weekend.

Warner's problem in NYG seemed fumble-centric more than throwing related, and, he was not being looked at as a potential starting option at that point, so his rejuvenation was more of a "here's another chance".

Palmer, on the other hand, has been making awful decisions for years, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. He'll throw for 4,000 of the most awful yards in the league.

Finally, I would not hitch my franchise to any of the arms that came out this year.

Post-finally, RAISE IT! Yinz guys see the stat they showed after the game? Bucs are 17-7 in interleague play since 2011. Had no idea.

It was like the exact opposite of the Cincinnati game last year!
