The Contreras situation is all on Hurdle in my opinion. You knew immediately he had no idea where the ball was going. Unreal. Hurdle is finally coming out. We may have seen the last of Jose. I bet Wilson is called back up.

That better happen.

I can understand using Contreras for a batter or two, but he should have been yanked after the back-to-back walks.

Uh, okay. It sounds like you need to apply that train of thought to my opinions as well then since me disagreeing with you caused you think you weren't allowed to have your own opinions. As for what I said about you doing your usual thing about being negative, anyone who regularly posts here knows that what you do is post stuff in games threads like "Wtf!" and "send this guy to the minors!" and "way to suck (player X)!". And yes, before you say it again, that is your prerogative and you have the right to do so. But that's why I said you were just doing your usual thing when what you were saying about the game (Liriano) was inaccurate. I guarantee prior to the runs given up in the fifth you wouldn't have been calling for Liriano to be pulled, you would have been saying he was pitching a fine game.

I call it exactly like I see it at the moment. If you have an issue with me or my opinions, block me! Simple. Last year we had guys like judge landis that made this board a hostile place.

Unbelievable that Harrison is picked off there. Utterly ridiculous. The guy had one job. Send him back to Indy.

And the top of the 8th revealed why it hurts when the Pirates' bench is so weak. Guys like Inge and Harrison simply aren't good at all, and it cost 'em there.

My goodness Josh Harrison, my goodness. That just sucked the wind out of the Pirates sails.

UN fuckin real. Go back to where you came from Harrison.

Excuse my language. That can't happen.

Way to battle in the 8th just like the 7th. Key hits. Pedro was unlucky.

Man, hurdle left Contreras in way to long. I don't think he's a bad pitcher. He's a journeyman but when a guy ain't got it he ain't got it. Walking the first two batters of the inning should throw up red flags.

Contreras is like 41 years old. On his last mile

Doesn't mean he can't throw strikes because he can. 41 year old journeyman can still throw strikes. Raise your hand if you'd rather see the opposing batter earn his way on via a hit or get walked.

Here's to hoping Valverde pulls a Contreras...

I'll say it....I like Travis Snider. He's made big strides at only 25 years old. He's learning how to be a hitter...I'm optimistic the power follows.

Tough loss, but be proud of those Buccos. No quit in the team. This is a pretty darn good baseball club.

Awful day for Cutch in clutch situations. Today seems like a day of wasted opportunities. Shake this one off and win tomorrow. Go Buccos!

Neither Cutch nor Cabrera did much today. That'll probably change tomorrow.

As for Cutch, he struck out on two perfect pitches: a nasty curve from Verlander and an outside fastball from Valverde, both in full counts. That's gonna happen on occasion. Cutch worked the count in both at-bats.
