Gomez is making it impossible to take him out of the rotation...this is nuts!

Pedro may have just killed the ump with that foul ball

Pedro really struggles with off speed crap in the dirt.

Last year, most people pointed to the San Diego series as the start of the collapse. To me, it was the Marte game against Houston. They jumped all over the Stros for 4 in the first, but, after that, it was nothingness for the rest of the series. They had reminded me of that in these past few games.

So this is nice to see.

Hate that. I'm hoping it goes away over time. That's really his only hope, as I don't imagine he'll start making contact at an appreciably higher rate.

It's really frustrating. Every hitter chases balls in the dirt but to do it over and over on the same day against the same pitcher just shows an inability to see the ball and react appropriately.

No need for Jackson to ever throw him a strike.

Of course...Early offense and then rain. Rain cost them a win against the Cards already.

Umpires are not as patient waiting out the rain with games against division foes because of the fact the team returns for another series.

Already cost them vs. Cardinals when they were hammering Westbrook. Better not bite them again this game.

The radio guys said this is the last time the Cubs play in Pittsburgh until mid September and that's a 4 games series. They think they will try to get this game in today to avoid a 5 game series at the end of the year.

Gomez not likely to return following a looooooong rain delay. Not thrilled that this puts a hit on the bullpen.

For as dreadful as Alvarez has been with the bat, he has been absolutely phenomenal lately with the glove. He just saved another run with a fantastic play. Kudos to Kedro for not taking his hitting frustrations to the field.

Nice AB from Pedro. He seems to have been working counts from 0-2 to 2-2 and 3-2 all year before finally going fishing for strike 3.
