GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT win against the hated Brewers...and I actually got to sit home and watch the whole game!

STARTER: Jeff Locke...wasn't his best but managed to give us 6 innings with 3 runs. 7 hits, just one walk. 6 Ks. Left for PH trailing 3-2. Calling this a good start.

WIN: Mazzarro pitched the final 2 innings, giving up just a hit and walk to go with a K to get his second win as a Bucco!

Honorable Mention: We had a ton of contributions tonight...lots of guys getting honorable mentions. On top of my HM list, and really he could score higher, Russell Martin... He goes 2-4 with 2 doubles and drives in the tying run in the 8th inning. Also gives up NO stolen bases and throws out Braun trying to steal. This is one of the Bucs best Free Agent signings in a long time. Marte went just 1-6 but got us going in the first inning yet again. The pen was sensational, giving us 6 scoreless innings. They all earn HMs.. Bryan Morris goes 2 (1 hit, 1 BB, 1 K), Grilli strikes out 3 in a perfect 9th. Melancon gives up 2 hits but keeps the Brewers scoreless in the 10th. And Mazzarro goes the final two for the win. HMs for all of them! Barmes gets an HM to for a clutch hit and RBI. He is starting to hit a little.

Star #3: After shaking off the rust last night, Neil Walker goes 2-3 plus 2 walks and scores 2 runs. Would be awesome to get this bat going like he can!

Star #2: On most nights, it would have earned him the #1 star, but Tabata has to settle for #2 tonight. 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk and a very good catch at the wall....also misplayed a ball that I believe he could have caught.

Star #1: CUTCH was CLUTCH!!! It was just one hit out of 5 ABs plus a walk, hit his hit was a walkoff HR...so giving him the #1 star, despite the other great performances mentioned above.

Martin deserves that star more than Walker. That hit was huge to tie the game after the Bucs had left 8 men on in 7 innings, often with their best hitters failing. And he went to 3rd on the overthrow.

Star # 2 1/2: Special star for a special game with an assist from Corsair!!: Russell Martin... He goes 2-4 with 2 doubles and drives in the tying run in the 8th inning.
