Morris should have admired that pitch.

Enjoy a game like this! You can just kick back, watch and relax.

Well there goes the shutout. Liriano tiring, but great outing.

Break that bum Liriano's other arm...

Barmes, Mercer, McKenry and Tabata came into the game with 15 RBIs for the season. They have 10 today.

Hopefully Mercer is the starting shortstop when Walker returns...

There can be no credible argument for any other result.

Mercer needs more time at short. Has he played the position since getting called up?

He was called up exclusively to play second due to Walker going to the DL, since there are already two shortstops on the team. As has been mentioned here a bunch, hopefully when Walker is healthy, John McDonald and his sub-.300 OPS are DFA'd.

What I also love(d) about this game was Pirates pitchers collectively striking out 14 batters and counting.

Now with the rain delay, something has been bothering me since the 2nd inning.

When Barmes with the bases loaded and one out, I think I would have sent Tabata coming from second to third. He's pretty quick and you had a pitcher who has almost never batted in his entire career and, yes he did hit into a double play.

It didn't matter in the long run, but still I would have gambled there.

Since it was a line drive that David Wright dove for and nearly snagged, Tabata and the runners had to hesitate, and the Mets LFer got to the ball before Tabata was even to third ... he would have been out at the plate by a mile.

I do think that, however, Liriano should not have been allowed to swing and take the K, then take your chances with Marte with the bases loaded.
