Bucs raise their record to 3-5 with a nice team win today. Bats seem to be coming around.

WIN: JMac looked awful in the first, after the Bucs gave him a nice early lead, he comes in and gives up 4 runs, but buckles down after that to improve his record to 1-1.

STARTER: JMac had a rough start but went on to retire 8 in a row and 10 out of 11 after that. With help from the pen, he gives up just those 4 first inning runs. Despite just 5 innings and 4 runs, I am calling this a good start, because he did what he had to in the end.

HOLDS: Watson (1.1 innings, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 BB), Hughes (0.2 with 2 BB, no runs-let inherited run score), Malancon (another solid inning from him) all get holds.

SAVE: Grilli cames in gives up a hit, strikes out one, and gets his 3rd save in 3 tries.STAR POINTS

Honorable Mention: Giving JMac just a little more love for his gutty performance and adding to the offense with a hit up the middle against the wheel when DBacks thought he might bunt. (after he failed miserably in the previous at bat). Scored the tying run! Neil Walker went just 1-5 but had the big go-ahead single to put the Bucs up 6-4. Giving Russell Martin just a little love...got his first Pirate hit a double, and played solid behind the plate.

STAR #3: Travis Snider goes 2-3, including a double and scores a run. Snider looks real solid! Would be nice to see him and Tabata give us nice production in a RF platoon.

STAR #2: Garrett Jones goes 3-5 with 2 RBI, with two outs to boot!

STAR #1: Marte sets the table again tonight. His fourth straight 2-hit game and 4th straight with a hit to leadoff the game. Ended up 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI....including a double

STAR POINTS

JMac 9.5
Rodriguez 9
Marte 5.5
Cutch 6.5

Grilli 3
