Nice Pirate win tonight! Lots of contributions. Seems like bats really broke out but in reality only 5 hits, and by just 4 guys. But the Bucs made the most of them and I will take the win.

WIN: JGomez comes in when Wandy goes down with injury. A little shaky but got the job done. The offense picked him up a litttle, giving him his first Pirate win! He ended up going 1.2 innings, giving up just 1 run.

HOLD: The bullpen has been pretty damn good so far! Tonight, JWilson goes 3 great innings and Melancon goes 1 scoreless to get holds.

SAVE: Grilli is perfect and gets his second save, striking out 1.

STARTER: I thought that WRod looked pretty good again but the injury made this start a wash. I hope he doesn't miss any time. We need him in the rotation!

Honorable Mention: GJones hits his first HR of the year in the 8th, giving us an insurance run. Justin Wilson also gets an HM going 3 perfect innings of relief to help preserve the lead.

Star # 3: Cutch goes 1-2 plus a walk...including a double, scores a run and drives in.

Star #2: Went back and forth on this one, but giving Travis Snider the higher nod over Cutch. His first inning 2 run single was a much needed clutch hit..got the Bucs on top 3-0. Ended up 1-3 plus a walk.

#1 Star: Giving it to Marte who did his job setting the table...Goes 2-4 including a triple! (his 3rd Multiple hit game in a row), plus a walk....scores two runs. Man, it's fun watching him run the bases.

Forgot you had your own spot on the board, have been waiting to see, my fault for not looking closer. Very much appreciated for the time you spend on this. Worth reading.

I too didn't know where to look for these. Was wondering the other day why I wasn't seeing them.

FWIW, I think that Wilson was the #1 star last night.

Well, I actually missed the first few then caught up. I will start putting them on the main page then when discussion is done, the admins can move them.

I considered Wilson. He was great. But without the offense, we do not win. Of course, without his pitching, we also do not win....so it's a dual-edged sword!

I agree 100%. Not only did he shut down the 9 batters he faced but he gave the entire game a shot of adrenaline. With the staff in a bad spot he came in and shut down the D'backs. He was the #1 star last night.
