Actually, if Melancon doesn't blow his first eighth inning lead of the year, it's the Astros that get swept.

Yeah, the hitting overall was disappointing. Mainly because of the missed opportunities with RISP in last night's game. If they had came through the late inning that they had runners on second and third with no outs and later stranding the bases loaded the tone of the series is completely different. I'm not concerned ... I saw it as more missed opportunities for the Pirates.

Wife and I were driving home from Prom and I heard the 11th on the car radio, and when I heard that they scored in the 8th of Melancon who had not given up a run in 13 appearances, I said, "Oh well, law of averages and all that." Lose 54 as my cousin would say.

Phillies just walked off against the Reds with back-to-back HRs off of Aroldis Chapman.

Melancon did not pitch bad that inning. Of the three hits, only one was solid. The other two actually could have been outs if he gloves one of them or the infield is playing a little more on way or another. Balls found holes. The bigger villain in that game was the hitting and defense, especially Gaby Sanchez.
