Mrs. AZBF and I sauntered down to the Rhythm Room in Phoenix to take in Nick Lowe last evening. A cozy capacity crowd of about 200 witnessed a fun show by one of the great wordsmiths of recent popular music. Just Nick and an acoustic guitar interspersed with a big dose of humor. My night was complete when he played All Men Are Liars from Party of One. Anyone who has a chance to see him should. He doesn't get to this side of the big pond often.

I find those type solo shows always great fun. I've seen the acoustic solo versions of Dave Mason, Glenn Tilbrook, and Richard Butler in small venues. All really, really good stuff.

Missed Joe Strummer though before he died. Figured I'd catch him the next time 'round. You never know.

Odd you mentioned Joe Strummer. I was lucky enough to see him on his last tour here in Scottsdale. Great rocking show. His last studio effort is worth getting.
