I am about 200 pages in and am amazed at what a jerk Steve Jobs was. I mean stomach turning jerk. I never followed him so I guess that is why I am surprised.

I'm not. Being an asshole seems to be a prerequisite for success in business. If one were to make a historical list of very successful businessmen, one would find a lot of jerks.

AZ, that is consistent with what I've heard also (although I'm not reading the book). Apparently, he had zero tolerance for mediocrity in any form and didn't even try to hide his contempt for people he didn't like or respect.

That's one way to go through life, I guess. It seems to work for some people. Jobs being one of them.

One of the high level people he had to deal with referred to himself as a recovering "assaholic" . He recognized this in Jobs also. He treated his employees horribly and was a bit of a wack job. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
