day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere

A song that reminds you of somewhere. The Moody Blues, Tuesday Afternoon. It reminds me of working the overnight shift at the convience store during college. There was a mix tape there I played and it this song was on it twice. The assistant manager was a huge Dylan fan and this is where I took more of an interest in Dylan and music in general.

Day 4: A Song That Makes You Sad:

This probably isn't the best version of this song, but it's good enough for our purposes I think. I think the lyrics are particularly sad. Sometimes it's not about how hard you try.

This is what this song challenge is all about. I had never heard this before but love it. Thanks for posting.

Day 5: A Song That Reminds You of Someone:

My best friend in college loved this song. Really opened my eyes to Weezer and other things.

Weezer is great. I was thinking about going to see them when they come here later this month.

Day 7, a song that reminds you of a certain event. Bob Dylan's Love and Theft. I'm going with a whole album because I was waiting for this all summer, then the planes crashed into the World Trade Center and in Shanksville the morning I bought it. Which I still swear I saw the plane fly over UPJ that morning, sitting on the porch of my apartment listening to this.

Always brings a tear to my eye. It's almost like it's the song you are supposed to hear before you die.

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone

Reminds me of my Dad. We took a trip Florida when I was six. We drove and stopped in South Carolina and stayed at a hotel. This was on TV that night.

Day 6: A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere:

This song reminds me of the kitchen in my college apartment. The one that smelled like a "beer garden." One of my friends played it on his guitar the first time he brought it over to my place. Eventually I learned to play along.

Day 7 The event. Seeing Eric Clapton at the Niagara Falls Convention Center with Santana in 1975. Both bands did an encore together and played a 20 minute version of this song.

Day 7: A Song That Reminds You of a Certain Event:

When I was in college we had a Halloween party once at my girlfriend's apartment and we were blasting the hell out of this song. Unfortunately, this drew the attention of the campus police and that party ended right quick. It's also my personal rule that if I am in control of the music I will never play this song before midnight.

Goldfinger is very English Beatish. A like.

The Journey tune always will remind me of the last episode of the Sopranos.

Ventures is killer with Jeff "Skunk" Baxter /session guy/Doobies/Steely Dan/ sitting in.

8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
