owns America from politicans who apologize to them for their problems in the gulf to a judiciary which now says that they are more important then the public in general. I will not argue with any of you who defend these people-- they own us.

Then stop driving your car, turning on your lights, and throw all plastics away.

Be principled. Not whining.

And, by the way, don't bother to look at the overall safety record. Just whine with no alternative.

Don't forget to forfeit your pensions and mutual funds, as they have been reaping the profits of these evil oil corporations.

Why can't we avoid the cynical "Big Oil owns the government" positions and instead evaluate the judge's decision on the actual merits? I'm sure our brains won't explode if we actually start analyzing the issues.

2,000 years ago, donkeys were a primary means of conveyance, both for goods and passengers. Some enterprising companies put together a conglomeration of of the donkeys, and essentially cornered the market.

However, the economic plan was doomed to fail once it was pointed out that the industry was dominated by "big ass." Nobody wanted to be associated with having a "big ass."

Analyze this.. we are one of three countries in the world who allows constitutional rights to the corporations.
Anybody care to guess the other two?

In the 1886 case Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, 118 U.S. 394, the Supreme Court recognized that corporations were recognized as persons
for purposes of the Fourteenth Amendment. (Ollie: Corporations should not be allowed the right to lobby the government, finance political campaigns, etc.)

Anyway the other two countries are Iraq & South Africa (WE wrote their constitutions!!) If the people are ever to take this country back one of the first
things we need to do is redefine "person" in the Fourteenth Amendment.
