I really like this version of the Nationals uniforms.

I really don't like the Nationals standard home uniforms and I think something like that would be a really nice change for them. The American flag style in the DC might be a bit busy but I like it.

If they made that jersey white they could use that at home most of the time and then keep the blue or change in a red instead for the alternate.

They could wear uniforms that look like the Revolutionary War uniforms...

My thoughts exactly. If the logo is plain white I think it's a very classy, classic look. It's a similar design to the Pirates alternate black uniform.
