Hey Wilton, I have an idea for a product and wonder what I would have to do to patent it or at least find out if there is already the same product. :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

So when I'm ready to start my own biotech company, I'll be calling you for some pro bono work! :D .

Seriously, congrats!

Congratulations, Mr. Willton.

Intellectual property means art, music, media?

In Japan there's an industry called dōjin. It's independent publishing which seems to avoid any litigation (I admit I don't know the difference between copyright and patents.) Example.. dōjin songwriters can borrow, record, perform their own arrangements of dōjin computer game music seemingly without permission. There are tons of dōjin manga and huge dōjin conventions. Is this kind of underground thing more common in other developed nations?

Yup. I work in the Florham Park, NJ office of Greenberg Traurig LLP.

Wilton ... I can officially call you opposing counsel. I was defense counsel on a case handled by Greengerg Traurig. GT was plaintiff's counsel on that case. It was litigated in Nevade Fed Court, on a derivative action that wound up in the bankruptcy court. (My client was not subject to the bk, I am glad to report.)
