I challenge anyone to find anything politically motivated in what the president said today. His message was do the right thin, make good choices and give your best effort. Plain and simple. If there were parents or schools that did not listen then it is their loss. And sad on top of it.

Az, the issue was NEVER the POTUS' speech. It was the follow up lesson plan that was the problem.

And that was corrected. Any school that did not watch the talk did a disservice to it's students. to decline encouragement from the President of the United States is foolhardy. Amongst other things.

I haven't heard anyone protest what Obama said. I heard people protest because they were afraid the speech would be political. To his credit, it wasn't.

One more example of scare tactics at work. Rush and his ilk.

My kid's school did not get the address. They got some backlash from parents beforehand (forwardlash!) I know she wouldn't have understood or listened anyway (she's in the 3rd grade.)

This is the one line I don't like, Mr. Obama. --> If you quit on school – you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country.

He could have left out that remark. The most successful American businessmen have no allegiance to this country.. why should the kids? Why didn't he explain to little Johnny about how the investors and bankers are the reason his family lost his house? Tell the kids why families don't have insurance. Explain why grandma died when she didn't have to.

All in all I was a lot more offended when Peter Jennings sat down with children to explain why war is necessary. That's the one I'll never forget!! We were in a laundromat. I wanted to reach through the TV and strangle him!! Ha ha!!

Citizenship. One word. It is not patriotism, which is a factor. Add a little loyalty. Just because some CEO of #$%^ corporation does not exhibit the proper qualities of a good citizen, it does not mean we must exhibit the same behaviors, nor legitimize our lack of the same.

For your general amusement. By all means, scroll down and watch the video at the end. It won't take much of your time.

Nobody else sees this as disgusting? Sure would like to hear what the left would say if you made the song about George Bush.

Would you denounce it if there was such a song about George Bush?
