Over the holiday we'll be in Washington D.C. to visit my wife's uncle. I'm surprised it's only 370 miles from Cleveland. Will be a delight to pass through your beautiful state again!

Question: Is there any place just off the Turnpike (76) where I could buy some Pirates stuff? T-shirts, jersey top? There's an exit around Monroeville?

Also does anyone know about Washington? My wife's uncle lives on Connecticut Ave. I'm curious what kind of neighborhood that is.

You can get off at the Cranberry exit and find a bunch of shops in the malls there, or the same in Monroeville.

I suspect you could also do well at Breezewood.

Not much Pirate stuff in Breezewood, mostly Steelers and Penguins gear...I was down that way a few weeks ago

Connecticut Avenue is a very nice place in Washington D.C. Here is the Wikipedia page about it. It tells you about transit and tourist attraction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connecticu ... ngton,_D.C.)

I also agree that Monroeville will have the most Pirate stuff, but check different stores because there are some that can be highly over priced.

PM me your mailing address, and I will send you a Pirates Cap from Opening day. Its this years classic design with the gold "P" logo on a black cap with "Opening Day" stitched on the side band.

Let me know if you want it. I have more than a few Pirates caps, and am more than willing to share with a Italian fan...

... especially since my families origins are in Tuscany and Naples!

Yeah, its amazing what you can get found on-line.

For only 3 easy payments of $49.99 I was able to get a plaque that proves I am a direct descendant of Marcus Antonius! Can you believe it??? !!!

LOL.

Anyways, I am somehow, someway an owner of probably 1/2000th of a family winery on the hills overlooking Naples. I think.

So my grandad told me.

Tuscany is really awesome.
There are incredible hidden place.

For example there is the ancient ruin of Saint Galgano (San Galgano) that was a cathedral built for a half.....they created the walls but they finished money so thy built up a wood roof that after not so many year was destroyed by the fire.

No money so no idea how to take back a new roof they let the structure like you can see.
And today is a great place for photos and films......a church without roof...

Or just 100 meters near this church there is another were you can find in the middle of the structure one sword in the rock (and maybe this is the real sword made famous by the story of King Arthur)

Had a good time in D.C! Stopped and picked up some Bucco T-shirts in Monroeville Mall (Macy's & Dick's) on the way home. My kid lost her cell phone in there in the mall. It was nice to see fans wearing Pirates caps!

Quite an enjoyable ride on the way home but it rained hard when we left Friday morning. So many turns in the road I couldn't really drive with cruise control in PA but the mountains are so pretty!
