Welcome to the board. We have several others posters from Europe, and they are a real asset to the board.

I'm curious to know, how did you come to be a Pirates fan?

I'm guessing he lost a bet or something of that variety.

Welcome to the board!

Ahahahah

It's a story of revenge!
I was a kid and I was playing for the baseball team of my city (Milano Baseball 1946).
One time there was a kind of party for al the organization and there was a stand where they sold MLB's team flag.
I arrived (as always) in late and just the Royals one remains.
So I've bought it.
My coach said to me "You've bought the worst one".
That time I was little sad 'cause even in my team I was the worst player.
So the worst player (me) bought the worst flag....

After 10 years I returned to my baseball passion and I had to choose a team to follow.
And guess what.......I remember that episode, but I was sure that the team was the Pirates.

And this is how all begins....a mistake.........buta at the end A GOOD THING!

So now you're a fan of the "Worst one" being the worst team the Pirates!

Exactly.

The problem is that where I live there is a great soccer tradition and both of the teams are "world champs". So I wanted to follow something that grows (hopefully) from zero (but with a great tradition).

But, remember, I came also from a past on the diamond too.
But here in Italy baseball is just another "unknown sport".
