Just got around to visiting the site today, only to find that a few posters have been banned. A little hypocritical wouldn't you say? Despite the difference in opinion I thought the conversation remained fairly civil, and aside from a few, the new guys were anything but trolls.

So that makes:

Bullish
Elmer
Alex P. Keaton
Punter
Velo
Garzalny

all banned from the board for their views on management that doesn't necessarily reflect a positive outlook on Buccoland.

And they call you guys enablers...what are they thinking?

I know Bullish was allowed back on the board he is now estrago and last time i looked Alex P. Keaton and Punter are still members.but you did forget one that did get ban Ian Smuth(which i agree was the best banning of them all)he needed to get the boot.

Starting threads slamming management with your first post is being a troll.

I only wish you had been banned with the rest of them.

Alex P. Keaton, Punter, Velo, Garzalny, and the rest of that miserable crew from Change In Atmosphere were not here to have a discussion. They were here to antagonize the board. Check their site if you don't believe me.

So what's your handle over at changeinatmosphere.com, omgardd?

Having been a member here since the Littlefield administration, it cracks me up that posters at this site have somehow acquired the reputation of being pro-Nutting toadies. And that bucco boy is somehow less than honorable for policing his own site when its longtime members are the victims of an organized attack by a mob from a rival board.

For the record, according to bullish/estrago, anyone who continues to support the Pirates in any fashion — by going to games, watching them on TV, listening to them on the radio, discussing the team on online — is an enabler. I'm an enabler. You're an enabler. Alex P. Keaton — for all his fatuous rhetoric, still obviously a committed fan — is an enabler.

Elmer posted here for a long time. I might be wrong about this, but it seems to me he disappeared right around the time he gave up any pretense of trying to discuss baseball — something he wasn't very good at anyway — and just started unleashing ah hominem attacks on other posters.

I clicked on your link, what point are you trying to make? Or should I say, how are you gathering that their sole purpose for coming here and discussing baseball (making several reasonable points in the process might I add) was to antagonize you? Are you telling me that Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball message boards are exclusive clubs and if you belong to one, you can't discuss baseball on another?

That's just silly.

Call me naive, but I don't believe anyone had any ulterior motives. I believe most people that follow the Pittsburgh Pirates in the real world have a negative and very pessimistic view about the club in general. You guys here represent a very small minority. You can't be suprised and react in a negative way everytime someone comes along and challenges your way of thinking.

You can tell purpose by how many strawmen are thrown out.

I think there was a record on that thread.

I'd not only call you naïve, I'd question your reading comprehension skills.

Lame board no doubt. Might need some 'new additions'.

Hmmm...this last one sounds pretty omgardd-y to me.

Do you want a prize master sleuth? I think Helen Keller or the kid who starred in Life Goes On could've been able to deduct that.

I've been here since last August when I was the first to be roundly criticized for rightly declaring that the Pirates quit on the season after the trades. I didn't realize discussion of Pirates baseball was an "us vs them" thing when it came to Pittsburgh Sports Net and CIA

Someone takes themselves a little too seriously.

Honestly, omgarrd, if you want to judge the past 10+ years of this board on your limited participation over the past 6 months, be my guest. You certainly aren't hurting my (or anyone else's) feelings. I can tell you though that in the entire history of this board, I can count the number of people "banned" on one hand prior to this incident, dating back to long before I was a moderator. I can also assure you that NO ONE has ever been banned or censored for their opinion. Not one time. And that includes this group.

Further, if you have a problem with the way the board is run, no one is forcing you to stay. Aside from that, there is no reason you can't PM a moderator with any complaints as opposed to having your own little public bitch session.

Good day.

Likewise, Corky could've done a better job of covering his tracks. Sweet Jeebus, you started the "Alex P. Keaton" thread at CIA, played dumb when it was thrown back at you here.

You're too funny. You get outed as an agitator from another site and that's the weak sauce you bring? Wow. Just wow. In all my years of surfing the interwebs, I don't believe I've seen a greater disconnect between a person's avatar and their posting persona.

Actually, I would encourage you to keep posting here. Actually, I would encourage you to change your name on this site to Pantsless Jose Lind, which is much cooler than omgardd. If you had any stones you would anyway. But now that people know your agenda and the "douchetacular" opinion you hold of the place, I imagine we'll be seeing much less of you.

Like many have said, if you don't like it here leave.

Apparently, you like the way they operate because you jumped right in and created another screen name and started calling people names before your other account was banned. Seems like you found yourself a new home.

Stay classy, San Diego.

As a person not really engaged in this past incident, let me suggest that it was obviously just an attack by a group of people who didn't want to be part of a board to discuss anything. Their goal was pretty clear-- disrupt and attack. They all became members within a few days of each other. They all shared the same attitude and seemed only to want to go after all others. They also thought that they were the only smart pirate fans alive and their opinion should be the accepted bible of pirate activity. They would have soon left anyway, and now may return with other names, but my guess is that they will not stay long. They will surely get bored with non rebvolutionary people. Yoy bunch of enablers- you ;) ;) ;) ;)

I actually enjoyed myself, it was stimulating(no relation to said "stimulus" plan)

I was about to start turning the argument and start arguing their position against them. Actually BH warned me early that they were a party of 7 or 8 crashing the board so I felt I should at least entertain them awhile. They had such nice things to say about me on their site.

What I find particularly disingenuous about the CIA guys is that while one of them claims the following:
Quote:
What they don't seem to get is that their opinions will be allowed here, although they may be mocked and ridiculed incessantly. People here are not threatened by opposing views. Funny that.

the administrator of that board starts the following thread when I register on their board.

http://www.changeinatmosphere.com/forum ... topic=1320

I have not been allowed to post on that board once. Yeah, those guys clearly aren't threatened at all.

I was the least objective, most unintelligent poster ever...

You should have made a name like Operation Shut down or something juvenile like some of their names and you could have snuck in for a little bit...

I wasn't motivated by "infiltration" as they were. I wanted to see if they would actually honor their claim that they are more welcoming than we are. Apparently they won't.

You sure did receive a nice welcome...

You and I don't see eye to eye at times, but I don't hate you. Those guys are a bunch of children that have a warped steroid era sense of this game.
