IA, my very close friend in Japan will be bringing students to our continent in a few days. They will be staying in Vancouver.
Their first night in Canada they will go to a hockey game (three hundred high school students!!)

Will they be going to a Canucks game? Nope.. University of British Columbia vs. Iowa State University.

When she told me that natch I thought of you. I plan to listen to the game online (yep, UBC Thunderbirds are broadcast
online) and she may call me during the game Friday night, but I'm wondering about something..

Why does ISU's athletic site not have a page for ice hockey? Is the Cyclones hockey program not an official member of
the NCAA? What's up with that? I know they have women's hockey, too.

Oh that's too funny! Iowa State's hockey program is not technically affiliated with the university, they are considered a "club" team. They are extremely popular and there is a big push to get the program a part of the athletic department. They are actually very good so everyone should see some good hockey!

The Cyclones let a 3-0 lead slip away in a 5-4 loss at UBC.
ISU was outshot 41-16.

This was an exhibition game for the Thunderbirds so I think there was no radio broadcast.
ISU remains on the west coast tonight and tomorrow against Simon Fraser and another
school.
