That is the question.

Big Ben suspended 4-6 games, Adam Schefter reports that the Steelers may be looking to trade him for a first rounder.

This whole debacle has me impartial towards his future with the team, so I say trade him to Da Raida's for their first this year and either a first in 2012 (since their 2011 pick went to NE for Richie Seymour) and/or a 2nd and 3rd rounder.

The thought of Big Ben w/ the Raiders is too hilarious to pass up.

The Post Gazette has a poll up on whether Ben should be traded or not, and 61% say yes.

I said no but with some hesitation. I really don't want to root for a creep.

As an outsider (I'm a Packers fan) but watch the Steelers when I can I feel that the Steelers can and would win without Ben. He has never really impressed me as a QB. In my opinion (and I could be wrong, obviously) the Steelers would become "Pirates" if they could get a first round draft pick for him. That would give them two first round picks, one of which could go to McCoy or Clausen. Leftwich and Dixon could hold the fort down for a year or two, the Steelers aren't winning the Super Bowl this season anyway.

Four months ago, I would have disagreed with you (even despite the terrible 09 season). Now... I don't think Burgh is in the top-5 in the AFC, much less the NFL.

With a healthy Polamalu the Steelers are a contender. I just wonder if Ben is gonna appeal.
If he doesn't appeal that is an admission of guilt. Is there gonna be a civil suit?

"He has never really impressed me as a QB"

You know that is a fairly common sentiment and I don't know how people can see it that way. The guy has just been phenomenal, most of the time.

We Steeler fans don't concede anything. It is totally unlike being a Pirates fan. We are in the hunt for the super bowl every year, regardless of the circumstances.

He single handedly won your last Super Bowl, moving downfield at the end of the game.
As a leader he's arguably among the top five QBs in the game.

I agree with this 100%. I've heard way more people than I ever thought I would say that he's not all that impressive. This was based on his play before the off-field antics came to light.

I can't see how people see it that way, either. He's an awesome QB. I think he's also an awesomely stupid and possibly bad individual.

It's because he doesn't throw for 4,000 yards every season. It's a fantasy football era.

Making a football decision based on reasons outside of football would be the epitome of bad management.
