0-3 versus the dregs of the AFC - pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

Quite shocking. Five weeks ago I thought the Steelers were one of the elite teams in the league. Now we are consistently losing to the worst teams the league has to offer.

We have suddenly become old and slow and are in full rebuilding mode, or at least should be.

Someone wrote a column at the start of the season about the Steelers wondering about their age on defense...Smith, Harrison, Keisel, Farrior, Carter, Townsend, Clark, Hampton, Hoke, and Kirschke are over the age of 30...

They weren't exactly decisive against the Lions, either, if you recall. Detroit ran 15 more plays than they did, outrushed them, finished with an edge in first downs, returned a pick for a TD, and had more than a five-minute edge in time of possession. On their final drive of the game, the Lions penetrated as deep as the Steelers' 21 before the defense woke up and sacked the QB three times.

Too bad for the Rams and Tampa Bay that they're not on the Steelers' schedule this year; they might both have another game in the "W" column.
