No. 2 won both the 1M and 3M springboard events but what happened on the return flight was more than worth mentioning. Our flight was delayed 4 different times for a total of over 4 hours but not getting home until after 2 AM was worth the wait. Our flight was delayed due to the fact that 40 wheel chair bound disabled veterans were traveling to Spokane for a wheel chair Olympic event. The vets had to be loaded individually one at a time from their chairs into an aisle size chair and then lifted into their respective seats on the plane. It took nearly 3 hours to accomplish this and then the same thing had to be done on their arrival in Spokane. We were told by the crew that the plane's Captain, a former Navy pilot, was involved in actually doing the lifting. Southwest Airlines was up front to all the passengers at the gates and announced the reason for the delay at each stop. We had stops in Boise and Salt Lake City and I am proud to say that the Captain came into the cabin to announce it each time and that the passengers gave a loud applause each time he announced it. There was absolutely no complaining or whining from any passengers. It was an experience that made me proud to be an American. God Bless America!

That's some good stuff right there. Not only did Az Bucco Fan No. 2 have a great weekend in Portland but the flight back sounds like it was full of good 'ole American pride. Great post!

Congrats on his great performance. Those wheel chair events should be broadcast on national TV.
