What the hell is therrian doing?!?!? Why take laraque out for Roberts!
They should be taking adam hall out! Hall contributes nothing and laraque was doing good at keeping the puck in the offensive zone.

Adam Hall is a decent face off guy (6-4 the last game). Georges has played well, but there will be no fights in this series. Roberts is a veteran who can give this team a spark.

I think this is a good move.

Hall can kill penalties, and that's probably why he stayed in the lineup.

To me it looked like the Pens should have dressed Lemieux, Coffey, Murphy and Francis last night.

Was it Roberts who gave a cheap shot to Franzen? Totally uncalled for.

That wasnt a cheap shot!!! Franzen had to take
1. A dive.
2. He is in no condition to play.

Roberts barely touched him and it wasnt an elbow.

Sorry dude, I can't agree that it was a chea shot. He caught him in the face with his glove, not his elbow. Try and count how many times people get a glove to the face during a hockey game. It also appeared to me that Franzen's first reaction was to turn and skate back to the play, then he made the decision to try and sell the hit and draw a penalty.

In other news, the Mellon Arena was forced to hire a lifeguard to station behind the Red Wings net just in case Osgood doesn't resurface following one of his dives.

Disagreed with the two of you. Yes it was more than likely a dive, but you don't come up the boards and clearly punch somebody in the face from behind with your non-stick hand. It wasn't even a clean check that was being finished and the glove just slipped. It was a cheap shot, and not the first by Robers over his career, but whatever. On the other end, yeah, Franzen probably dove, but not many players in that situation in the Stanley Cup Finals aren't going to use the opportunity of getting punched from behind to not draw a penalty out of it.

Wasnt his team winning 3-0 deep into the 3rd when it happened?

I believe you are correct about the game situation. Is it ok in hockey to sucker punch someone at that point? Or is it only ok if the recipient is also recovering from a concussion?

I wouldn't consider any lead safe with 10 minutes left in the 3rd period, especially against a Stanley Cup caliber team. As someone who's attended hundred of hockey games throughout my life, I've seen crazier things happen than 3-goal lead blown. At any rate, it's really not worth debating because it deserved a penalty anyway.

Yes and so therefore I propose that they do not count.

Oh, wait a minute...this just in...flukey goals count the same as "real" goals!

BTW, how many goals has Laraque scored?

Ryann, I like Laraque, but he's way too slow to play against Detroit. He just doesn't match up well against them.

He has one, against the Rangers.

Yes, he is more physical than Hall. Have you noticed that the Pens have been out-hit during this series? Have any Red Wings been taking liberties? No, and no. The biggest advantage the Red Wings have is their team speed, and that's something that Laraque just doesn't have. It's hard to hit somebody when you can't catch them. He'd be perfect if we were still playing the Flyers or a similar team, but he's a liability against the Wings.

Took the words out of my mouth. Laraque just doesn't fit what the team needs against Detroit. That's not to say he isn't valuable...he just doesn't fit in the lineup. Scratching him is absolutely the right choice.
