when a championship is on the line. The 1979 World Series Champion Pittsburgh Pirates were the last team to win on the road

Between 1979 and today, there have been 17 Championships in a row, won by the home team in the NBA, MLB, and NHL. That is an amazing statistic.
Heres to 30 years later that another Pittsburgh team wins a championship on the road!!

So the Penguins would be the last team to win the Stanley Cup on the road?

The last championship won by a Pittsburgh team at home was the 1960 Pirates...

Sometimes i like to be wrong. It is only fitting that the last 2 teams to pull this feat have been Pittsburgh teams!
